About Us

Our Story

PurAqua Products was founded in 1998 by esteemed pool builder Don Baker. Don, sensing an opportunity to push the pool industry forward, created PurAqua to pursue the perfect pool. This deep understanding of the inner workings of the best and most successful pools led to a partnership with Axiall Corporation since acquired by Westlake Chemical Corporation. In 2001, engineers from Axiall leaned on PurAqua's decades of experience to help design their innovative line of Accu-Tab® Aquatic and Industrial chlorinators. Driven by the commercial success of the Accu-Tab® line, in 2017, Westlake's engineers once again enlisted the help of PurAqua's experts to design their latest aquatic product -- the Acid Rite line of pH Adjustment Systems.

Today, the chlorinators and pH systems manufactured at PurAqua are seen in facilities around the globe. Our service group has expanded into a separate business unit, Aqua Management Partners. As an ISO-9001 company, our commitment to excellence and iterative improvement is evident as when Don founded the company. We are a proud Accu-Tab® Specialist, offering Accu-Tab® and Acid Rite units and tablets in North and South Carolina, as well as Accu-Tab® replacement parts nationwide.

An Employee Owned Company

In 2019, Don Baker started to transfer shares of his ownership into an ESOP. An ESOP is an Employee Stock Ownership Program, which allows ordinary employees to own a portion of the company. Don has stated this his intention is to gradually transition his entire ownership stake into the ESOP, allowing for a much greater portion of the company to be held by the employees who work here. The ESOP has transformed the retirement and life of many of the employees. It serves as a unique incentive to keep the company healthy and growing.

PurAqua Products also offers a EPD (Earned profitability dividend) – A bonus that is given every quarter if the company meets the quarterly revenue goal.

Internships

PurAqua Products is happy to provide opportunity to college students in Rock Hill, SC.
